How many times have you tried raw food diet and failed to stick to it?
Not your fault at all. The fact is that your sense of taste was developed on cooked food. Changing to a complete raw food diet is not possible so late in your life. It's highly beneficial but not possible in reality for most of us.
And frankly it's not needed either.
"He who loves his stomach does not love his life"- Morris Krok
I don't agree though. It should be, he would loves his taste buds does not love his life. If you eat solely for satisfying your taste buds you are in a lot of trouble. That does not mean that you have to go to the extreme of totally denying yourself.
By the way you are in for an interesting raw food diet testimonial towards the end.
You bet it does. Raw foodist are the healthiest people alive. There are people in remote parts of Pakistan, Russia and in India who completely live off raw food with the inclusion of a little rice every now and then. They are also vegetarians.
In has been found that there was no trace of heart problems, diabetes, hyper tension and cancer among these tribes. These diseases are so prevalent in our society that its almost considered normal nowadays.
I call it realistic because it is doable. Frankly its not a raw food diet but just a healthy way eating to incorporate all the benefits of a raw food diet.
Here what a general struggle free diet meal plan would be
Here is the secret,
Make sure you have atleast 50% (if possible hit 70%) of raw vegetables in comparision to your cooked food during every meal.
Raw fruits and vegetable are rich in water content, usually 70-90%. I am sure you are aware of the fact that 70% of your body is water. So it makes sense to eat food which is rich in water content.
Most of the cooked food is processed. Even if its fresh, when you fry or grill your vegetables they lose their water content and the enzymes present are all killed.
So the secret is to have 50% cooked food for your taste buds and 50% raw food (made from a choice of raw food vegan recipes). It would be great if you could make it 30% cooked food and 70% raw food with time.
Changing to such a raw food diet would ensure that you stick to eat since you get your daily dose of cooked food (which you crave) along with fresh raw fruits and vegetables.
No pain, but with all the benefits of a complete raw food diet.
A famous name in blogosphere these days is that of Steve Pavlina. He is a great believer in experimentation with life styles which increase productivity.
Steve went in for a 30 day trial with a complete raw food diet (with no table salt) conducted last year.
He has documents his daily experiences very methodically for the entire 30 days. I think this would be the best testimonial to the things raw food diet can do to you.

Sticking to a raw food diet is very challenging for people even if they are strong willed. It is not the kind of life style you can adopt without hassles.
If you adapt the life style of 50% raw food to 50% cooked food (if possible 70% raw to 30% cooked) while having a "fruit only" breakfast, the results are stunning. It's the best way to a quick and permanent weight loss.
