Does eating a raw food diet satisfy your body's need for all the essential vitamins, minerals, protein and glucose? Is it sufficient for growing kids and athletes?
There are several questions which have not been answers satisfactorily by the dieticians or may be the research has not be made popular because of divested interested of several process food brands.
It does not matter what the popular opinion is, all you need to do is test it for yourself. Three things are integral to deciding what is a healthy diet.
1. Any food which cannot be eaten in its raw state may not be optimally healthy for you
2. Any food which cannot be digested completely will leave behind toxins
3. Any food which lacks water content is not healthy for you
Which food meets this criteria of healthy diet? The answer is fruits. The second in line is vegetables. It is true that vegetables alone are not optimal as food because they have less water content and most of them are rich in starch. But fruits are just perfect as food for humans.
A diet rich in fresh fruits and small quantities of raw vegetables is a perfect raw food diet. Two points to remember
1. Avoid eating vegetables and fruits in the same meal as they require different digestion intervals. Vegetables require close to 2 hours to be digested, fruits require close to 20 minutes to be digested when chewed properly.
2. Avoid eating fruit seeds, most of them are poisonous. If possible eat the fruits after peeling the skin off. The use of insecticides may pollute the upper layer of the fruit skin.
Cons
1. Raw food diet be expensive to maintain due to the high cost associated with many fruits.
2. Since the taste buds have been perverted by eating salted spicy food all our life, it might initially detest the extreme sweetness of fruits.
Pros
1. It is the healthiest diet you can ever eat.
2. You feel energetic and active the whole day because fruit are so easily digested and assimilated
3. The body somehow feels so pumped up that you require very little sleep ( 6 hours would seem more than sufficient for a day)
4. Your concentration levels are high and personally I have experience a hike in my creative energies
5. A fruit diet would ensure you never have stomach upsets or acidity
Actually the first point summarizes it all, there is no need to go on with the list.
