Becoming a vegetarian is not as difficult as you think it is. It is all about the methodology you follow towards becoming one that makes it difficult or easy. In this article I am going to discuss a very easy yet highly effective method by which you can become a vegetarian in a matter of a few months.
Once you have decided to become a vegetarian, the first thing that you got to do is write it down on a piece of paper. Write down something like 'I will become a vegetarian within three months starting from today.' Now fold this paper and hide it somewhere. The paper has a physiological impact on your subconscious brain which will help you stay determined in the course of time of becoming a vegetarian.
The biggest mistake most people make in their path towards becoming a vegetarian is going too fast. They drop all non-veg food from their diet in a jiffy. So one fine day they are non-vegetarians and the other day they are not. This is not possible. You have to understand that you have been eating non-vegetarian food all your life and giving that up is going to take some time. So don't torture your body, give it some time and move towards your goal slowly and steadily.
Okay, here's how the magic is done. Drop one meat at a time. Drop red meat from your diet. Keep eating other non-vegetarian meals like fish, eggs, chicken and others. But do not touch red meat. Say to yourself that you are allergic to red meat. This will also give you a good reason to avoid red meat when you are with your friends. Just tell them that you are allergic to red meat. Keep at this for a matter of a few weeks. In a few weeks time, you will find that your body does not miss red meat after all. It has simply become more dependent on other types of non-veg food.
Once you start feeling this, move on to the next step. Stop eating chicken. Follow the same procedure. Replace chicken with fish. Eat fish for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Learn to make tasty recipes out of fish and you will never feel the need for chicken again.
And finally when you body has accepted the absence of chicken in diet, move on to becoming a complete vegetarian by skipping fish as well.
The final step can be hard so do not give up on fish altogether. Eat it less frequently. Slowly start replacing fish with green vegetables. If you follow this technique you will become a vegetarian within a matter of two to three months and you won't even know how it happened.
Most vegetarian weight loss programs make use of the same technique that I have mentioned above. These programs combine a healthy vegetarian diet with a lot of weight loss exercises. So if you find any difficulty in avoiding non-vegetarian diet all by your own, then you can consider joining a good vegetarian weight loss program.
Before you join a program though, make sure to enquire what their techniques are and how exactly they propose to turn you into a vegetarian.
If you asked yourself why be a vegetarian, you will be amazed to know the varied benefits a vegetarian diet has in comparison to a non-vegetarian diet. You will be more healthy, more agile, you will not have any kind of digestion or constipation problems, you will start loosing weight and your body will generate more resistance towards diseases. In addition your hearth and other organs will function more efficiently and will remain healthy for a longer period of time. So you see the reasons for becoming a vegetarian are really quite high. It's not just about fat reduction.
