How much protein do we really need?

There is a wide spread misunderstanding that protein is the most useful block of nutrient you can provide your body with. Why has this misunderstanding crept in? Because of three factors

2. Body builders who swear by protein

3. Meat companies promoting their products by stating how useful protein is to your body

4. New generation fads in diet and their hysteria with proteins

The truth is that your body hardly has any direct use of proteins. Your most essential nutrient is carbohydrates. Proteins are converted to carbohydrate when you don't feed you body with essential foods which are rich in carbohydrates.

Three reasons why intake of protein can cause harm are

1. The process of converting protein to carbohydrate is energy intensive and leaves you deficient of vitality

2. Protein digestion requires calcium. If you fail to provide calcium via food, the body takes calcium from your bones and teeth.

3. Digestion of protein always releases nitrogen, which combines with hydrogen and chlorine to form uric acid. This is evident from urine samples tested after a consumption of a protein rich diet.

4. There is no direct energy received by the body from the digestion of proteins

What constitutes a protein rich diet?

1. Meat, chicken, fish and all non-vegetarian food

2. Oils and fats like butter, cheese, saturated oils and unsaturated oils

3. Eggs
