An all fruit diet is the best diet for any one who is looking to prevent heart attack. In fact fruits are the best food to prevent any disease or deficiency from affecting the body.

Can I survive on an all fruit diet?

You very well can and in fact it's the best diet for human beings. Most natural hygienists live off on fruits and a small addition of nuts and seeds in their diet. Some of them also take small portions of steamed vegetables or salads every now and then.

There is nothing wrong with eating cooked food infrequently. Keep fruits as your primary source of nutrition, raw vegetables as secondary and all the other foods as tertiary. If you have to rate the foods which are best for human beings it would be as below

Number 1 - Fruits (the best diet you can ever have for yourself. No obesity, no heart problems, no diseases, just perfect health and energy. It is rich in glucose, contains vitamins, mineral and protein in just the right amount as required by humans.)

Number 2 - Vegetables (It is usually not completely digested because of the presence of cellulose. It is better than eating non-vegetarian food any day. Rich in several minerals and vitamins if eaten in raw form)

Number 3 - Vegetarian cooked food (some starchy vegetables are easy to digest when they are cooked but most vitamins and minerals are lost. Cooked rice and wheat should be taken in minimal quantities)

Number 4 - Cooked non-vegetarian food (The worst diet you can be on. Rich in protein and fat both of them are harmful for the body. It is known to be the leading cause of heart problems, blood pressure, gout, cancer and other degenerative diseases.)

Is there problem if I overeat fruits?

Over eating anything can be a problem. Over eating only fruits has never been reported as a problem though. You might have a feeling of a full stomach for a few minutes or may be half an hour depending on the fruits you have taken.

If you over-eat fruits on top of cooked food you will have a lot of problems to deal with because that's the wrong way of eating fruits. All the fruits you ate would get fermented, covert to alcohol leading to liver damage and a feeling of sluggishness. Fruits and cooked food in the stomach make for a lethal combination.

The reason why you cannot over eat fruits is because of their rich water content. You will have a feeling of satiation after eating two or three portions of fruits. Even if you eat unconsciously its hardly possible to overeat fruits the way you overeat cooked food and other processed food like popcorn and chips.

It is easy to overeat other foods like potatoes, rice and meat because they lack water content. That way the body keeps gorging food till its thirst is satiated. Food, if you did not know, is the primary source of water for the body.
