No everyday desserts

The notion of eating dessert after a meal does not work as a healthy option, however tempting it might be. There is nothing better than feeding yourself a bowl of home made cake after a good dinner, but this is a sure fire invite to obesity and high blood sugar problems.

Avoid eating desserts everyday, keep it for special occasions if possible. There are people who avoid taking sugar through cooked food, it is a wisely investment in health. Processed sugar is poison for your body.

Dread the whites - Bread, Rice, Pasta, Noodles

The high rate of diabetes in countries like India is due to the intake of rice as staple food. Rice is rich in carbohydrates and increase in blood sugar is immediately noticeable after a meal chiefly consisting of rice. Pasta and noodles are made out of rice or maize, on top of it they are highly processed which may make it quite unhealthy for your body.

Too much bread consumption is the leading cause of diabetes. Unfortunately this is the staple food in many countries. Bread is made from flour, the fine power of any grain is considered to be processed and loses several vital nutrition in the first place. Flour made from wheat, or any other grain, is usually rich in starch. This is the main cause of rise in blood sugar.

You can try eating whole wheat bread and brown rice, this would be a healthy and low sugar option.

Don't add sugar to your fruit juices

First of all, fruit juice is not as healthy as eating fruits. Anything which is processed or concentrated has its own harms. Eating fruits in their whole raw state is the best way to go about it.

If you must drink fruit juice, make sure you don't add milk or sugar to it. Adding sugar to your fruit juice would defeat the very purpose of drinking it for better health. If you have high blood sugar, it would advisable to stay away from juices and eat fruits in their whole state.

Eat homemade food

This is the best advise in health you will ever get. Stay away from packaged and processed foods. Anything which is not natural is not good for you, add to it the further processing that is done and the food becomes poison.

Packaged chips, cool drinks, fruit juices, cereals, sweets and snacks are extremely unhealthy due to the very fact that they are not natural. You can never estimate the amount of processed sugar and preservatives that are added to these foods.

Eat homemade food as much as possible, put very little processed sugar in the food you make.
